Police in Victoria, Australia issued a warning to motorists this weekend regarding Apple Maps after several travelers became stranded in the Murray-Sunset National Park trying to reach the city of Mildura using Apple's directions.

Local Police have been called to assist distressed motorists who have become stranded within the Murray-Sunset National Park after following directions on their Apple i-phone.

Tests on the mapping system by police confirm the mapping systems lists Mildura in the middle of the Murray Sunset National Park, approximately 70km away from the actual location of Mildura.

Police are extremely concerned as there is no water supply within the Park and temperatures can reach as high as 46 degrees, making this a potentially life threatening issue.

Some of the motorists located by police have been stranded for up to 24 hours without food or water and have walked long distances through dangerous terrain to get phone reception.

In Maps, the city of Mildura is listed in the middle of the Murray-Sunset National Park, which is actually 70km or 43 miles from the city's actual location. In the photo pictured to the right, the red pin is where Apple lists Mildura, while the purple pin displays Mildura's actual location.

A report from Australia's ABC News reveals that Victoria police have had to rescue a total of six people in the last two months after they became lost using Maps.

After the launch of iOS 6, which included the new Maps application, Apple received criticism over inaccuracies in mapping data like the mislocation in Victoria, which led to the termination of several people involved with the Maps project, including Senior Vice President of iOS Software Scott Forstall and Maps manager Richard Williamson.

Apple CEO Tim Cook even issued a personal apology to the public over the debacle, promising to improve the app. In his recent interview with Brian Williams, Tim Cook spoke again about Maps, reiterating that Apple "screwed up" and is "putting the weight of the company behind correcting it."

Police in Victoria have contacted Apple about the Maps discrepancy and are warning travelers to use an alternative mapp ing system until it is fixed.

Unions and Fast Food

I am amazed that unions are trying to get into McD and other fast food companies in particular in New York City. The hardest part will be on New Yorkers who work there. They will not have full time jobs and many more people will lose jobs. This then means that McD will not be able as much in sales. Then we have the fun stuff. Prices will greatly increse and people will stop going there and more jobs will be cut. Good job unions.

KISS

One of the things I want to try at work is getting some new computer carts for people to use. I mean I am really liking this idea. Everything small and compact and out of the way. The more that there is in the way of the business the less that gets done and I am real fan of making things simple. I always like the old refrain KISS Keep it Simple Stupid. Finding Fun

In case you were wondering how some certian books have been written ~cough~Twilight~cough~ I think I have finally figured it out. I mean really how hard could a book about a choice between sleeping with dead people or sleeping with animals be to write.

Concessions Stands and More

I am working really hard at concessions. IT was nice that someone left a  I coloniali smallflower on the counter. Concessions at a high school is one of the odd jobs that I have picked up. I spend way to much time for the amount of money that is involved. But that is they way life goes. I just need the money

Seems Depressng

IT really seems like the direction of this country has greatly changed over the past month. Since the reelection of King Obama to his throne, it seems that he has gone really negative and is still campainging. I am thinking that people want a leader.

I know that is what it is . . . people desire a leader not a ruler.

Printing

The more that I try to do things the more I find I need to keep spending money. As an example I now need to find a local label printing service to help me design some envelope labels and a few other things. I mean if the stuff does not look good, well one thing I have learned it better, then people will not trust you.

I do remember the days when all you needed to be a computer pro was a business card. ANd it was to the point all you needed was a half way decent one. I mean crayon might have worked.

Would have been great

One of the things I did in high school was to play the clarinet. It is still something I enjoy doing. I have confess I just had the hard shell. I would have liked something like the DEL which would have been awesome. I mean this seems to beat anything I ever had.

Countires to 78

Here is something fun for you to think about. What if you divided the world into 78 countries by GDP. While I did not do this map I wonder about a few things. The first problem is that how does NK get to be 1/78th of the world GDP. I find that very hard to understand.

The other problem is of course dynamics. So Cal which becoems its own country as well as NY their own country do not have the ability to feed their population.

Weather

I am getting ready for winter and am thinking of getting some DELETE to keep my hands warm. I love the way things about winter except when it is windy and cold.

THe windy and cold part is what really bothers me. I do not really hate the cold weather. It is when the wind comes in and hits it.

Selling Machines


Now that I am reselling some cash registers I need to do a  wipe computer hard drive to make sure there is no information left on the computer. Amazing how well I am doing at this. I am able to do this quickly and easily. </p>
Now that I am working at this I am hoping that I can make this better for other people as well as myself.

Already Wanting Summer.

One of things that I look forward to as a teacher is summer. The reason is not that I get time off because I do not. I get to go do another job for 2 months. I am headed out towards something like teen camps for teens at teensummercamps.com and leading a camp. I am in talks with a few people.

I really want to run an education camp and make life better for all. Something were we do science or computers for part of the day and the rest of the day is outside having fun.

Food For Kids

Well here we are worrying about the food. America has new rules for school lunches. Kids are hungary all the time. While we have problem with paternity testing services for students now we have to worry about food. We are told kids need to have food and not be hungry.

Now they are not getting enough food per the federal govt. My kids are quite hungry most of the time. Thank you.

Band On the Run

As I mentioned in prior post I bought a really nice keyboard finally. I have played for years on my own. Now i have friend who wants me to play in a band. He has some new drum set and they have the rest of the crew lined up. I am not sure if I want to as I like playing for myself and it is my method of relaxing. Why would I want to place my hobby into work and practice and everything else.

Finding More Fun

One of the things I have wanted to always do is play the piano professionaly. Well I bought a midi  with a keyboard attached. Well that means I am going to be playing at a bar. I have all the background stuff to add into the background for my playing.

Well the little prince is on way back to England after his naked frolic on Las Vegas. What bothers me about this is he will not face charges and become a sex offender in the United States. This is my only complaint. If you or had done this then we would have been a sex offender.

Well now is the time to find some cheap art supplies as school is on the way into session. I have been amazed at how much I am spending this year on supplies for my classroom.

I have bought pencils, notebooks, and more. For myself I bought binders, apps, and cables. The biggie I bought for myself was Keynote app for my iPad and a cable.

Outside Money.

I have written elsewhere on the unemployment rates. This is having a major effect on tourism industry. Where I live, we are stop on the way to Sturgis. THere was a lot less bike noise this year. Which of course means less people traveling and bringing money into the local economy.

One of the things you should learn is that outside money is a good thing.

Well my friend is working on new uniforms for his shop. He wants something that looks good and will have good wearing. He is pushing toward cherokee workwear for his positive work place enviroment.

Hello November

Changes In Small THings

I am sometimes amazed at the differences in things in my lifetime. When I had little kids we needed the best double stroller and we bought it.

I thought of a few changes that would be really nice. Yet a few years later the improvements I thought of had been included. Not to mention many many others. We did not even have a cup holder on our strollers. I used a a modified car class holder that clips onto the window.

Just saying.

anger management.

Been watching the show Anger Management. Now I am never sure how I like charlie sheen. He is somewhat funny. But the problem is he does not seem to know how to act. All he manages to do it play the same person over and over. Which is a drunk whore monger.

Well many moons I took off my and left it somewhere. Now we are in the market for a new one. Now why did I take it off? I worked with electronics. I always thought I was safe and okay. Time to Eat

Had some fun today, went to the larger city and out to eat. We bought one of those cards that give two for one so we were able to eat out twice instead of once today. IT was really nice for this most happy day. It was a nice time to be out with wife and not the kids.

Think about this for a minute. How rich would we look to people of 100 years. We can get almost anything that is personalized. We can get a plate with printing on it, metal items customized and what does that sy about wealth.

Hence my question for the future historians.

Getting More Time

What has amazed me in the good service industry has been the
Retail System that people have been going to  in recent years.  This shows that even a non-computer industry gets moved forward wityh computers.

My one friend has one system that does his ordering, and he does say the amount of time he has saved has been amazing. OF course govt. regulations have ate up all the time and more.

A Teaching Summer Job.

There are some things that are really good for starting a business. One of them is owning a hotdog carts All you really need is a good location. Once you have location you will do well. Or you do what one of my friends do, go to every little fair and event in the midwest. After school ends, he takes off and lives in it for the rest of the summer. Does quit well if you ask me.

Grilling v. BBQ

So here I am using my DELETE while I am grilling burgers. Nice thick angus burgers for my grill. While growing up in CA we called this bbq. Move to the south and find out that bbq is something totally different and not what I am looking for, feel like bad luck brian. I found this out when I invited some friends over for some bbq and I gave made grilled hamburgers.

Finding Ready

Well now that I am doing well in things. I am in need of some fixed annuities for the eventual help of the work for me. I mean I would like to keep my family doing well. They will need and help and that is how I have structrued my insurance in case of my death. Well I have to always be ready.

So now that June is here we have the question. Will ObamaCare be found to be illegal?
With all the switch plates and ideas going around my money is on yes. With Obama going around saying he needs to have another term to fix health care. I suspect that he is going to run on this idea of needing to fix it. I also wonder how many judges on SCOTUS will be replaced in the next four years.

One of the odd things I have seen on Facebook is the number of high school friends that are still in bands. Ok. Well I guess that is cool. But just the shear number surprised me. Coupld of them are always buting new stuff  like DELETE and talking about it.

I like plants

One of the fun things to do is grow flowers. Now while many people will not consider that a macho hobby or thing to do there are flowers men would like to plant. Right now I am working on reviving some blueberry bushes that were nigh unto not doing well. One of the fun things recently though is that my wife bought me flowers. Pain In The Leg

I have been sitting wrong. I like to lean forward in my chair and place all my weight on my bent knees. I get this nasty thing on my right leg where I cant walk. I have to use a cane. Which for my age is scary. My wife keeps swearing to get me a walkers for seniors. And all I have to do is sit correctly. I better do that or else I am in trouble. And look what I did my leg is bent again. Grrr. Have a good day.

I realize that google likes to change things and 'make them better' but why is it whenever things like google or facebook try to make things better they usually fail. I mean I try to read my andro400 review and blogger is now just getting the way.

The composition window used to let you move between plain text and html. now you have to choose html or text and the two never meet.

Wow what a day! Can you blieve there is snow in the NE of the US this late in April. Meanwhile in SD I am working on my cree xm-l for perfection We have been having a colder than ususal April. TO the point we had several freeze nights that managed to kill off a lot of bugs.

I do not buy the climate change arguement as it does not meet what people have been saying for years. But we are having some serious wacky weather.

Funny Things

I was talking with a friend and he is trying to cut costs to some degree. He was looking at affordable life insurance online for him and his family. What I find funny over the years is the amount of stuff on Amazon. I am just waiting for some of this stuff to show up on amazon.

With insurnce being able to buy across state lines it is niece to find online.

One of the best things that I have found in the affiliate marketing tips is to optimize well. I mean I have had a few local restaraunts asking for help and wanting me to do things for them. One of the odd things that I do not want to do this. It seems quite hard for what they want to do. I mean they are after trying to beat some of the major chains. GOing to be tough.

Well one of my friends who has a daughter that plays the in a high school jazz band. They had a really cool valentines dinner with their daughter playing some soothing jazz in the background. Now that is the way to have some solid jazz in the background.

Granted she was slightly in the other room and the wife had to make the dinner. Apperntly though it went really well listening to the music.

An Old Friend

I just meet one of my good friends from high school. She was up here visiting her in-laws shortly after she had a Spine surgery Houston to help her pain. Scary as we get older the differance that happen. She was in an accident however, I am glad she is fine now.

Of course she now lives in Texas and visitng up in the land of the cold.

Snowing -- Yeah!!

SO now that snow is here. IT is time to mount up my thule ski rack and head out to the slops and do some snow skiing.

I love this time of year. It is a great time to be out and about. I used to go on a snow ski and enjoying myself. I have not been able to do much in the way of snow play. I love to go downhill skiing.

I have to confess I am not a great fan of cross country.

Staying Warm.

One of the things I like this time of year is my sunrooms on my house. Despite the cold temps it is usually warm after work. I like to go in there with my dog and read my iPad. I usually hit the news to see what is going on in the world.
