Police in Victoria, Australia issued a warning to motorists this weekend regarding Apple Maps after several travelers became stranded in the Murray-Sunset National Park trying to reach the city of Mildura using Apple's directions.

Local Police have been called to assist distressed motorists who have become stranded within the Murray-Sunset National Park after following directions on their Apple i-phone.

Tests on the mapping system by police confirm the mapping systems lists Mildura in the middle of the Murray Sunset National Park, approximately 70km away from the actual location of Mildura.

Police are extremely concerned as there is no water supply within the Park and temperatures can reach as high as 46 degrees, making this a potentially life threatening issue.

Some of the motorists located by police have been stranded for up to 24 hours without food or water and have walked long distances through dangerous terrain to get phone reception.

In Maps, the city of Mildura is listed in the middle of the Murray-Sunset National Park, which is actually 70km or 43 miles from the city's actual location. In the photo pictured to the right, the red pin is where Apple lists Mildura, while the purple pin displays Mildura's actual location.

A report from Australia's ABC News reveals that Victoria police have had to rescue a total of six people in the last two months after they became lost using Maps.

After the launch of iOS 6, which included the new Maps application, Apple received criticism over inaccuracies in mapping data like the mislocation in Victoria, which led to the termination of several people involved with the Maps project, including Senior Vice President of iOS Software Scott Forstall and Maps manager Richard Williamson.

Apple CEO Tim Cook even issued a personal apology to the public over the debacle, promising to improve the app. In his recent interview with Brian Williams, Tim Cook spoke again about Maps, reiterating that Apple "screwed up" and is "putting the weight of the company behind correcting it."

Police in Victoria have contacted Apple about the Maps discrepancy and are warning travelers to use an alternative mapp ing system until it is fixed.

I am really liking more and more of science. There are lots of fun things that are going on in my life that involve science.

Unions and Fast Food

I am amazed that unions are trying to get into McD and other fast food companies in particular in New York City. The hardest part will be on New Yorkers who work there. They will not have full time jobs and many more people will lose jobs. This then means that McD will not be able as much in sales. Then we have the fun stuff. Prices will greatly increse and people will stop going there and more jobs will be cut. Good job unions.

KISS

One of the things I want to try at work is getting some new computer carts for people to use. I mean I am really liking this idea. Everything small and compact and out of the way. The more that there is in the way of the business the less that gets done and I am real fan of making things simple. I always like the old refrain KISS Keep it Simple Stupid. Finding Fun

In case you were wondering how some certian books have been written ~cough~Twilight~cough~ I think I have finally figured it out. I mean really how hard could a book about a choice between sleeping with dead people or sleeping with animals be to write.

Concessions Stands and More

I am working really hard at concessions. IT was nice that someone left a  I coloniali smallflower on the counter. Concessions at a high school is one of the odd jobs that I have picked up. I spend way to much time for the amount of money that is involved. But that is they way life goes. I just need the money

Seems Depressng

IT really seems like the direction of this country has greatly changed over the past month. Since the reelection of King Obama to his throne, it seems that he has gone really negative and is still campainging. I am thinking that people want a leader.

I know that is what it is . . . people desire a leader not a ruler.

Printing

The more that I try to do things the more I find I need to keep spending money. As an example I now need to find a local label printing service to help me design some envelope labels and a few other things. I mean if the stuff does not look good, well one thing I have learned it better, then people will not trust you.

I do remember the days when all you needed to be a computer pro was a business card. ANd it was to the point all you needed was a half way decent one. I mean crayon might have worked.
