Fourth of July

I am looking forward the fourth of July this week. We always have a big feast with lots of grilling and of course corn and more. I love the grilling and we do dogs and burgers. We recently obtained a aluminum picnic table that goes so well in out fenced in backyard. Of course then we are lucky in that we live in a place where you can actually do fireworks without a problem.

Being safe

I am amazed at the usefulness of many things. For example, a key chain which is actually a kubaton can be useful in a tight situation. IT is the single best close contact weapon when you are not having any other choice of what to do and will be well used.

Well I hope that you have a great day.

Blackmail and more

"A Franklin, Tennessee man has been indicted for his attempt to blackmail Mitt Romney. Michael Mancil Brown allegedly claimed his intent to release some of Romney's pre-2010 tax documents unless one million dollars was converted to Bitcoins and deposited into an account which he specified. Demand letters were sent to Republican and Democratic Party offices in Tennessee, and Pricewaterhouse Coopers (whom he claimed to have stolen the documents from). Pricewaterhouse Coopers denies that he ever obtained such documents. Brown was also attempting to "sell" the documents to others (presumably the Democrats or other interested parties) for the same amount. And yes, he was apparently well aware of the Dr. Evil reference."

Cyber Spys

Well this is some fun news. "Cyber espionage, crime, and warfare are possible only because of poor application or system design, implementation, and/or configuration,' argues a U.S. Air Force cyber security researcher. 'It is technological vulnerabilities that create the ability for actors to exploit the information system and gain illicit access to sensitive national security secrets, as the previous examples highlight. Yet software and hardware developers are not regulated in the same way as, say, the auto or pharmaceutical industries.' 'The truth is that we should no longer accept a patch/configuration management culture that promotes a laissez-faire approach to cyber security."

Looking Forward

Well I am working on having a garage sale. One of things that I would really to do is buy some serious wholesale yard signs so that I can advertise. I have never had much luck with garage sales. They have been problamatic for me and not making much money and having lots of hard work. So I am trying one more to see what is going one with everything. HAve a most happy day.

Well this is fun

I am amazed at the level of iphone intergration.

"the reporters of the Chicago Sun-Times are being given training in iPhone photography, to make up for the firing of the photography staff. From the CoM story: 'The move is part of a growing trend towards publications using the iPhone as a replacement for fancy, expensive DSLRs. It's a also a sign of how traditional journalism is being changed by technology like the iPhone and the advent of digital publishing.'"
